Hardware Setup:

Open the printer package and take out the power cord, phone cord, and installation guide.
Next, remove the software CD, ink cartridge, and user guide from the box.
Now, discard the foam packing materials and gently lift the printer from the package.
Remove the plastic cover and discard all the blue protective tapes around the printer.
Open the ink cartridge access door and remove the packing material from the cartridge area.
Now, unpack one of the ink cartridges and remove the protective tapes.
Slowly insert the ink cartridge into the respective slot.
Follow these instructions to insert the remaining ink cartridges into their slots.
Make sure that the ink cartridge is correctly installed into its slot.
Now, close the cartridge access door.
Pull the paper tray out of the HP OfficeJet Pro X476dw printer and remove the packing materials from the tray area.
Slide the paper width guide until it touches the edges of the stack.
Now, fan a stack of paper and load it into the paper tray.
Adjust the paper width guide until it rests on the edges of the stack.
Insert the paper tray into the printer.
Make sure that the sheets are correctly inserted into the tray.
Do not load the paper above the load limit mark.
Plug the power cord to the printer’s rear and the other end into an electrical outlet.
By pressing the Power button on the control panel, turn on the printer.
Now, follow the on-screen prompts to set the language, country/region, date, and time on the printer’s control panel.

Software Setup:

If you have the software installation CD that comes with your printer package, insert it into the CD-ROM drive on your computer to download and install the software for your printer.

If you don’t have the software CD, visit the official support page to download and install the software for your printer.

Now, you need to click on the Support tab at the top of the support page and select the Software and drivers menu.

Choose the Printer option on the next page.

Now, type your printer’s model name under the Enter your product name option and click on the Submit button.

Your operating system will automatically be shown at the top of the page in the next window.

If you want to change the operating system, click on the Choose a different OS option on top of the page.

Select your respective operating system with its version and click on the Change button.

Now, choose the HP OfficeJet Pro X476dw Full Software Solution (Recommended) file below the Driver-Product Installation Software category and click on the Download option.

After downloading the driver file, open it and start the installation process.

Perform the on-screen instructions to complete the software installation.
