Use the Scan to Email feature to automatically scan a document or photo from the printer. It also allows the user to send the document directly to one or more email addresses. To start the Scan to Email process on your HP printer, you need to set up your email address first and then scan the document to send the email. You can follow the below steps to quickly set up the scan to email process on your HP printer.

SCAN TO EMAIL SETUP:

To set up the scan to email process, you can use the Embedded Web Server or Scan to Email Wizard.

  • From the printer’s control panel, choose the Scan option on the home screen.
  • Now, tap the Email option.
  • Choose Next on the Email Profile Not Set Up screen.
  • Now, tap on the Using the HP Software Installed on a Computer or Using a Web Browser option.

Setup Outgoing Email Profile From Printer Software:

  • Make sure to download and install the printer software for your printer.
  • Open the HP printer software from your computer’s startup menu.
  • Now, click on the Print option and select the Scan & Fax option.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • Select the Scan to Email Wizard option.
  • Choose the New option in the Outgoing Email Profiles window.
  • Now, follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.
  • If the Scan to Email Wizard option is not available, use the Embedded Web Server method to set up the outgoing email profile.

Setup Outgoing Email Profile FromEmbedded Web Server:

  • You can use the Embedded Web Server through a  network or Wi-Fi Direct.
  • Open the Embedded Web Server and select the Home tab.
  • Now, click on the Scan to Email option.
  • Select the Settings option and choose the Add New Profile icon to create an outgoing email profile.
  • Now, you need to follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.

SCAN A DOCUMENT OR PHOTO TO EMAIL:

  • Lift the scanner lid.
  • Load the document in print-side down on the scanner glass or in the document feeder.
  • Choose the Scan option from the home screen on the printer’s control panel.
  • Now, tap the Email option.
  • Choose the email account that you wish to use and touch on the Continue option.
  • Now, type the recipient’s email address in the To field and email subject in the Subject field.
  • Tap on the Preview icon to preview the scan.
  • If you want to change the scan settings, then choose the Settings icon.
  • Now, touch the Send option to send the scan to the recipient.
