FOR WIRELESS

Step 1: Connecting the printer to a wireless network

  • Open your printer’s dashboard and tap on the Wi-Fi icon. 
  • Select Settings > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup. Now, if you have selected the Wireless Setup Wizard option, the list of network names that are available within your printer’s range will be displayed on the screen. Select your network and type its password in the given field.
  • Similarly, if you have selected the Wi-Fi Protected Setup option, then select Push or PIN and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Installing the HP Smart app

  • Connect your computer to the same Wi-Fi network over a wireless or wired network.
  • Install and open the HP Smart app on your computer.
  • Add the printer and finish the Wi-Fi setup by following the instructions displayed on the screen.
  • If you have already connected your HP printer using a USB or Ethernet connection, follow the instructions below to change it to a wireless network.
  • Note: The following instructions are suitable only for Windows OS-based computers.
  • Open the HP printer software on your computer.
  • Click Tools > Devices Setup & amp > Software > Convert a USB connected printer to wireless.

FOR USB

  • Open the HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 printer driver file on your computer.
  • Reach the “Select your connection” screen by following the instructions displayed on the screen.
  • Now, select the USB Connection option and connect your printer directly to the computer using the USB cable.
  • As soon as your printer is recognized by the computer, select it and complete the rest of the installation process by following the instructions displayed on the screen.

FOR WIRED

  • Connect your HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 printer to the router or access point using an Ethernet cable.
  • Now, connect your computer to the same network (to which the printer is connected) over a wired or wireless connection. 
  • Run the printer driver file on your computer.
  • Install the printer software to complete the setup.
