Unpack your printer

• Unpack your printer and remove all the protective materials.
• Take out all the included components and check whether they are delivered without damage.
• Raise the scanner unit and remove the tapes and labels inside it.

Connect your printer to an electrical outlet

CHECK THE PRINTER STATUS:

• Select the Start menu and navigate to the Control Panel option.
• Now, choose Hardware and Sounds > Devices and Printers from the control panel.
• Right-click on your HP printer and select See what’s printing > Printer.
• Disable the Use Printer Offline option.
• Now, check whether the printer is back in online mode.

Install the ink cartridges

• Open your HP printer’s cartridge access door.
• Unpack the supplied cartridges and take out the protective tapes.
• Install the cartridges on the respective holders and press each cartridge until it fits in its place. It is important to install the cartridges according to the color indications, so recheck whether you have installed them in the correct holders.

Load the paper

• Extend the paper tray and slide the guides all the way out.
• Take a paper stack and fan the sheets neatly.
• Align the edges and load the paper into the paper tray.
• Adjust the guides to fit the loaded stack.
• Finally, insert the paper tray completely into the printer.

• A printer driver enables you to connect your printer to the computer. It literally establishes the communication between them. For your HP OfficeJet Pro 8713 printer, you can get the software from HP’s official website.
• Visit HP’s official website from your default browser.
• Enter your printer model and download the printer driver that supports your Operating System.
• Once the download is complete, locate the file within the browser and run the setup file.
• When prompted, choose the connection method you prefer and connect your devices accordingly.
• Follow the on-screen instructions and then finish the installation.
• From now on, you can print the documents directly from your computer.

• You can establish the connection between your printer and the computer using the HP Smart app.
• First, connect your HP printer to your wireless network. To do that, swipe down the dashboard of your printer and tap Wireless.
• Tap Settings> Wireless Settings> Wireless> Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
• When it shows you a list of nearby networks, choose your router’s SSID and enter the respective password.
• If you cannot locate your network, enter the credentials manually. Then, the connection will be established between your printer and the router.

• Now, download the HP Smart app from HP’s official website and install it on your computer by adhering to the instructions.
• Launch the app and click on the Add Printer option. Now all the nearby printers will be displayed. As you have already connected your HP printer to your router’s network, your HP OfficeJet Pro 8713 will also be displayed.
• Click on it, and then the connection will be established between your printer and the computer.
